Game Table | Break-in [WAB]

Last weekend Matt J2 made it over for a game of WB. He ran my Caliphate army and I my Greeks [I used the Spartan early hoplite list from AoA2]. After taking forever [I have been working sporadically on a game table for 3 years as time allowed], it was great to have it finally finished and see some figures on it. There is a little more color to it than shows up in the pictures. I intend to add some tuft grass to add a little variation, esp. on the moveable terrain pieces.

 Hoplite line surges forward, needing to make contact before the Arab Cav can muck things up

Caliphate skirmishers advance and the Hoplites weather a lot of missile fire from all units...

Hoplites hold the line and advance...

Caliphate continue volley fire into the hoplite line while their cavalry is up to no good on the flanks...

Hoplites phalanxes charge the Caliphate line; the Caliphate cavalry is in position to cause some trouble if their infantry can hold out... [and fresh cookies magically appear in the background thanks to Mrs. Butcher]

After several rounds, the Hoplite Phalanxes prove too much for the Berber Spearmen and the Caliphate line breaks...

We decided to call it at this point. Matt is a great player and it was fun to finally get to play some WAB this summer.
